This is just a quick update to let you all know that we are working on great things, and I think you will be quite impressed with us in 2012!! Stay tuned for another year of biscuit adventures.
Happy New Year!!
I Love Santa Day!
I had an absolutely wonderful Christmas/ Birthday this year! I kicked off the holiday season with a party at Grandma Karen’s house on Dec 23, and then went to visit family in Wasaga Beach for Christmas and Boxing Day. I must have been a very good girl this year, as I did very well at Christmas. I hope you enjoy this peak at all of my Christmas loot.
Snowflake Cookie (Amelia Biscuit Co.)- A tasty and wonderful gift from Santa.- Treaty Bites Canadian Bacon (Amelia Biscuit Co.)- My favourite flavour of treats and a welcome gift from Amelia.
- Melissa’s Aloe (Melissa’s Aloe)- A gift pack from THE Melissa, my friend and queen of the Aloe business. Thank you for the Aloe Pet!
- ZiwiPeak Venison Jerky- I just love this treat…I’m pushing for a venison biscuit in the new year! Thanks mom;)
- Monkey Sweater (Chilly Dog)- It makes me look cute, and it keeps me warm, and it was a gift from my mom.
- Stuffed Rabbit Toy (AKC)- I am in love with my Rabbit and I have moved it to the top of my favourite toy list. I have to thank Grandma Karen for this exciting gift!!
- Everest Chew (This & That)- This is a cheese chew and really who doesn’t love cheese. The best part about this item is it is hypoallergenic which means I can chew it and it is healthy for me. Thanks grandma and grandpa Labelle for the wonderful chew:)
- Alligator Chew (Paragon)- Santa really knows his stuff, and this was a great stocking stuffer that I enjoyed on Christmas morning.
My Canadian Christmas Stocking Wish List
I set out earlier this year to find you a list of ten stocking stuffer items that are under $10 and made by Canadian companies. It has been a wonderful project, and I hope this gives you some great ideas for shopping local for your canine gifts this holiday season.
My Top Ten Canadian Stocking Stuffers Under $10!!!
- Snowflake: I think this not only a simply delicious treat but I feel this is our best new treat from the 2011 winter collection. I had so much fun chewing all 6 points off the snowflake and the fantastic carrot cake flavour does not disappoint. (Amelia Biscuit Company)
- Treaty Bites Canadian Bacon: If you want a taste of the great white north this is the treat for any Canadian loving canine! (Amelia Biscuit Company)
- Pizza Stars and Canes Holiday Cello Pack: Perfect size for the under 25lb dog. I love the crunch and the cheesy pizza taste. I can’t imagine a stocking without these in it this holiday season. (Amelia Biscuit Company)
- Melissa’s Aloe Pet Cream 1/4 oz: An absolute necessity for any canine concerned with their skin this holiday season. This product helps me look camera ready every time, and just last night it repaired the chapped skin on my sensitive nose. Melissa’s Aloe is the perfect go to product for all of your pet skin emergencies and they also make wonderful creams for your human friends too! (Melissa’s Aloe Pet)
- 1st Choice Denta Snack: Do you need to freshen your breath for a big date or a holiday party this Christmas? These snacks not only taste great, but they actually make my breath kissable and fresh. If you know me you know how I like to share kisses;) (PLB International)
- Rollover Beef Bone: I sometime dream of rollover bones. I just love the challenge of cleaning out the tasty beef filling. The best part about these bones for me is that they don’t upset my very sensitive stomach and to be quite honest they are simply addictive. (Rollover)
- Bullwrinkles: Ok now here is a gift anyone will like- you just can’t not like a bully stick! This is an easy gift option for any canine on your Christmas list this holiday season. (Bullwrinkle)
- Treaty Bites Freeze-dried Liver: Freeze-dried liver equals tiny bits of tasty love in my books. I can’t imagine a world without freeze-dried liver cubes; I suppose it would be like a world without fine chocolate for you humans. I am looking forward to seeing a bag of these on Christmas morning (hint…hint!). (Amelia Biscuit Company)
- Tartar Buster Bone: Ok humans if you could chew on candy and clean your teeth wouldn’t that pretty much be a dream come true? That is what a tartar bone is like to me, and I must say I truly enjoyed this teeth cleaning experience. (Barnsdale Farms)
- Oven Baked Tradition Liver Chews: These soft treats are like tiny little liver candy. I can see these being an economical option for training or treating. At only $3.99 a bag they are a perfect addition to any treat cupboard. (Oven Baked Tradition)
I remember… please support our troops!
Yesterday, we packed two Christmas care packages for my aunt Kerry. She is currently on deployment in Afghanistan, and unfortunately this year she won’t be able to join us for the holidays. I was quite surprised to find out that Canada Post offers free Christmas mail delivery to all of our troops that are deployed. You simply drop off the boxes, and they get them to where they need to go, and it is completely FREE!! Thank you Canada Post!! In closing on this Remembrance Day post, I would like to thank all of our troops from the past to the present
for protecting our county and making Canada a wonderful place to live:)
Happy Thanksgiving!!
It is finally time to celebrate the fall feast of Thanksgiving:) I have been waiting eagerly for this holiday, as I think it might be the best holiday our humans celebrate. I can’t deny that I like receiving gifts at Christmas, but there is something fantastic about a holiday that’s main attraction is the food! Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Sink or Swim?
This weekend was quite the adventure, and I found out many things about myself that I didn’t know before I went to Port Colborne. The first item is that I CAN’T swim:) I realized that if I leisurely walk into water I can float, but when I jump into a pond while chasing a duck I sink like a rock! I was very lucky that my humans were close, and I was attached to my flexi lead, so they were able to quickly rescue me by reeling me in like a fish. I am now thinking a life jacket might be necessary for future trips near open water;) I also discovered that you shouldn’t chase bees!! This is a very important lesson, and you should always believe your humans when they tell you this is a very bad idea. Only moments after “catching” the bee I was rushed into the house where Jen quickly removed the stinger, and Aunty Olga fed me dose of benedryl in a tasty but cold pasta noodle. I had quite the fat lip for the next few hours, and unfortunately I wasn’t able to participate in the rest of my planned photo shoot. All in all, it was a fantastic weekend of outdoor fun. I truly enjoyed my visit, and I can’t wait to go back to Aunty Olga’ s house, as I still find myself dreaming of chickens, ducks, bonfires with good friends, and a truly awesome made for a dog yard. Port Colborne rocks!
